Homeschooling Family to Family Announces First Year Anniversary

Advocacy, outreach and mentoring flourishing in homeschool community.

Houston, TX (PRWEB) October 6, 2006 -- One year after launching Homeschooling Family to Family (HFTF), a nationwide outreach of Frontline Ministries, homeschoolers around the country are actively discussing ways to reach out to encourage their friends and neighbors to homeschool.

HFTF has exceeded its one year goals and has begun working toward its three year goals. Jube Dankworth, the National Director of HFTF, is delighted with the progress that has been made: “We knew there was a need for this outreach, but we did not expect the overwhelming response we received at the conferences. We met many people who had not only recently introduced friends and relatives to homeschooling, but who had also brought those friends and relatives to the conferences. One woman was so glad to have support in her outreach efforts that she told me she wished there had been a newsletter and support available when she was bringing new families into homeschooling many years ago.”

“Jube Dankworth has led HFTF to become a catalyst to help the homeschool movement become more intentional and active in advocacy, outreach, and mentoring new families into homeschooling. We expect homeschooling to grow as Christian families share their joy and adventure of homeschooling with their families, neighbors, and fellow church members” states E. Ray Moore, Jr., Chaplain (Lt. Col.) USAR ret, President of Frontline Ministries.

"We are a young organization,” Dankworth notes, “but we have made great strides in mobilizing homeschoolers to take the initiative in growing homeschooling by actively encouraging and assisting friends, neighbors, and relatives to join the homeschooling community.”

During its first year, HFTF signed up representatives in 9 states, attended 7 major homeschool conventions, and held workshops in several states. With articles about HFTF appearing in every major homeschool magazine this year, Homeschooling Family to Family is connecting with homeschoolers as they begin to reach out to family and friends to advocate homeschooling.

About Homeschooling Family To Family

Homeschooling Family to Family is a new bridge to homeschooling. We want to encourage seasoned home schoolers to bring at least one new family per year into homeschooling by reaching out to relatives and friends! Our monthly E-newsletter provides families interested in homeschooling outreach with tips for identifying families interested in homeschooling, suggestions on mentoring, and ideas on other topics. Our web-site materials include downloadable articles and brochures that will help allay a new family's fears. In addition, we are providing DVD's and CD's to local support groups so that their members can easily introduce others to the blessings of homeschooling.
