Teen Social Network Habbo to Launch 'Habbo Home' Customized Personal Pages

Teens, celebrities, brands, and entertainment companies will have their own "Habbo Home" uniquely decorated pages.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 2, 2006 -- Habbo, one of the world's largest and fastest growing online social networks for teens, is introducing a new and versatile feature to the Habbo community, "Habbo Home." Habbo Home will offer the opportunity for members to design their own personal pages by customizing the layout and then adding their own innovative touches. The appeal of Habbo Home is that it gives community members another opportunity for integrating personal expression with creativity. In addition, celebrities, recording artists, and select brands will also be invited to have official Habbo Home pages, which teens can visit for the latest updates and special promotions. Habbo currently has nearly 7.1 million users world-wide.

The Habbo Home pages will launch officially on November 27 with Nelly Furtado, Tony Hawk, New Found Glory, Ciara, Bowling for Soup, Chingy, Scream Tour, and Lady Sovereign among the first to introduce pages.

The new pages also include enhanced online safety features for members, including buttons that immediately allow users to report inappropriate content on My Habbo Home pages.

"The new Habbo Home pages will open up a whole new arena for self expression and social networking for our members, as well as provide additional resources for information on their favorite topics, stars, and entertainment," says Teemu Huuhtanen, President, Habbo North America. "The pages will also provide interesting and creative ways for brands to reach teens with Habbo Home Page promotions and new interactive features."

Habbo has been a leading online community for major brands and artists to reach teens. With over 1.7 million Habbo members on the U.S. site and over 7.1 million worldwide, brands such as Sprite, L'Oreal, and Wal Mart have all taken part in successful integrative and interactive campaigns within the Habbo world.

Teens interested in becoming members of HABBO can go to www.habbo.com and click on the "check in" button.

About Habbo

Habbo is a richly colorful, multi-dimensional virtual community and game environment for teens. Users join by creating a fully-customized online character called a Habbo. From there, they can explore many public hang-outs, play a variety of games, connect with friends, decorate their own rooms, and have fun through creativity and self expression. Since its launch in 2000 by Sulake Corporation (www.sulake.com), an interactive entertainment company that specializes in developing, publishing and distributing multiplayer social networking communities and games, HABBO sites have been introduced in 29 countries on five continents, with more than 64 million Habbo characters created and more than 7.1 million unique users each month. The highly-trafficked U.S site, www.habbo.com, is visited by over 1.7 million unique users per month who spend, on average, more than three hours a week on the site (Nielsen Net Ratings). Sulake has headquarters in Finland and offices in 18 countries. Currently the company has over 270 employees worldwide. Sulake is extending the Habbo brand to include e.g. mobile games and content, and merchandising and licensing products.
