The Arkansas Virtual High School is a pilot project funded by the Arkansas Department of Education.  The purpose of the Arkansas Virtual High School is to provide an online alternative learning environment for the students of Arkansas' public schools who need assistance in completing coursework that is difficult to receive due to factors such as schedule conflicts, homebound due to extenuating circumstances, and other factors that might impede a student's progress through grades 9 - 12. "
